We believe the biggest barrier to T1D care isn't funding. It's that families don't know the help they qualify for even exists.
Glucopath is a free, nonprofit-funded platform that matches insulin-dependent patients to financial assistance programs and early detection resources. We do the navigation so patients don't have to.
The programs exist. People just can't find them.
Over 8.4 million Americans depend on insulin to survive. One in six ration their dose because they can't afford it. The complications from rationing — DKA, hospitalizations, organ damage — are preventable. But only 3% of eligible patients ever use the financial assistance available to them.
The problem isn't that programs don't exist. Lilly, Novo Nordisk, Sanofi, Medicare, Medicaid, and dozens of foundations all have programs for insulin-dependent patients. The problem is that 59% of patients have no idea any of it exists — and even those who have heard of these programs often don't know how to apply or whether they qualify.
Glucopath was built to close that gap. We match patients to every program they personally qualify for based on their insurance, income, state, and medications. Then we walk them through how to apply.
What we stand for
Accuracy above all
We deal in life-or-death information. Every program, eligibility rule, and phone number on this platform is verified. Wrong information is worse than no information.
Always free
Glucopath will never charge patients. We are funded through health equity grants and hospital partnerships. Patients never pay.
Comprehensiveness is non-negotiable
A platform that only surfaces a narrow set of programs fails the people who need it most. We cover every program we can find, for every patient type.
Who built this

Founder photo — Krish Hirani
Glucopath was founded by Krish Hirani, who has lived with Type 1 diabetes since he was 17 months old. He’s spent his life inside the exact system Glucopath now helps others navigate.
That experience turned into action early. Krish has run T1D awareness campaigns across South Florida, spoken at schools, and hosted nursing workshops to improve pediatric diabetes care. He’s traveled to Washington, D.C. to lobby Congress for cheaper insulin and more diabetes research funding. He’s authored four published research papers on diabetes, work that shaped how he thinks about the condition at a population level, not just an individual one. Add in years of conferences, runs, and workshops, and the throughline is the same: showing up for the T1D community in every way that matters.
That population-level view sharpened at the Diabetes Research Institute in Miami, where Krish spent time observing clinical trials. He watched patients travel in for free insulin and low-cost experimental therapies, drawn by need, not curiosity. It confirmed something he’d suspected from his own life and from interviews with T1D patients and families across Florida: the help exists. People just can’t find it.
Glucopath is what happens when a patient, an advocate, and a researcher decide to fix that.
Built for patients, not systems
Glucopath is built for newly diagnosed T1D patients, low-income families, uninsured adults, Medicare patients who've been told they have no options, and caregivers navigating the system on someone else's behalf. If you depend on insulin to survive, this platform is for you.
